Russia in Moto2: Vector Racing Team and Kiefer Racing to further cooperate in 2010

Though the race was won by Marco Simoncelli from Italy, Russia's Vladimir Leonov fulfilled his task and, despite the searing pain in his hand from an injury suffered two races earlier, made it to the finish with a score of No. 19 and just 1:59.794 behind the leader in German's Sachsenring.

Vladimir was operated on Wednesday successfully in Cologne, and has experienced arthroscopic surgery on the breaking in the right wrist, has received a titan screw implant. He will try to comeback in three weeks time at Bruenn.

Former 250cc World Championship runner-up Ralf Waldmann will be riding for the Viessmann Kiefer Racing team at Donington as a substitute for Vladimir Leonov.

Vector Racing Team pilot and the only Russian in MotoGP Vladimir Leonov competed in Italian Gran Prix, i.e. the fifth round of the world motor racing championship, in the 250cc class. Unfortunately, technical problems kept the 22-year old pilot from finishing in his debut MotoGP season.

The event took place at the Drive House biker club. Vladimir expanded on his MotoGP debut and the first three races in Qatar, Japan and Spain. He also shared his impressions about the hardships he has suffered as a MotoGP pilot, i.e. the peculiarities of the circuit surface on sunny and rainy days, the difficulties of riding a bike, the bike's own individual temper, the atmosphere at the circuit and the championships in general, as well as how amazing it is to be among motorbike stars, and of course, the pressure that results from all of these things.
